Day two of the Shield back chair transformation and the chair has been sanded, completely removing the old finish until exposing the raw wood, this way the paint will adhere better. Cracks have been repaired with Elmer’s wood putty and painted black with Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray paint.

The overview on the Rust-Oleum Specialty Lacquer Spray paint is that it will add an ultra-hard, factory-like finish to furniture. Hardens to high luster and is fast drying. Key word FAST!

Slowly this Goodwill chair is turning into a gem. I have to say that I love the finish, It will be left to dry over night and a third coat of paint will be needed.

  • I purchased the decorative nails that I want to add.
  • Still need to purchase the fabric, but that can wait until tomorrow.
  • Also I want to give this chair a name. Any Ideas??
