This has been the week of enjoying everything that summer in Chicago has to offer.

Last Friday, the workweek ended by having dinner at Sip, which is now my new favorite tapas restaurant. After dinner we attended the performance of the musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie” and called it a night because it had been a long day and a long workweek.

Over the weekend Matthew and I hit up the local Beverly Hills antique shops and estate sales. We did some browsing and eventually found some good items for around the house. I bought a vintage swivel stool that I plan to refinish and make fabulous for my bedroom. Eventually when that is complete I will make a post of the process.

Saturday night we made our way to Boystown for dinner, crepes, drinks and some good old fashion fun. We ended up dancing the night away at the local clubs and celebrating Bastille Day.

On Tuesday after a few days of rest I met up with Emma for lunch and some well deserved time at the beach. We ended up catching up with all the gossip while taking in all the sunrays and enjoying the beautiful city in the background.

After three hours of burning in the sun Emma had to leave and I met up with Misael. Misael and I ended up going back to the beach, catching sun, drinking cold-cold margaritas, talking to sexy tan men and getting wet. Ha! Spending the day at the beach was the perfect way to spend my Tuesday and best of all was getting to spend the day with lovely friends.

On Wednesday after a serious hangover Misael and I made it back to the city. We planned on spending more time at the beach but decided to change it up a bit by going to the Art Institute Museum. We started with the European collection while we waited for Josh and Paul to arrive. Once the boys were inside we got together and saw the new museum exhibit “Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity”. This exhibit included a lot of paintings that I saw while in Paris but it was lovely getting to see how fashion was used in art. Totally recommend this exhibit and I might go see it again before it leaves Chicago.

After the museum and lunch I met up with my friend Osman, whom I absolutely adore. We walked over to a cute little restaurant on Superior Street and had a great chat while sipping on martinis.

Today I had a few hours of work and needed some catching up on some floor plan but overall I had a short day. I had a talk with Matthew about the new paint color selection for his family room, kitchen and bedroom. Stay tune to see what the final selection of paint is made. Tomorrow it’s back at the beach during the day and then seeing another performance in the evening with the boys.

Ha! Little corner of the blog world have a lovely night and if you are reading his far thank you for sticking around.

Lies: Marina and the Diamonds
After seeing Marina in concert I was really excited to see that the official video for the song Lies had been released. I’m loving the simplicity of it all. Lies!
